The Schumann Frequency

Christopher Ride, $32.95

Now that you’ve read The Schumann Frequency, Book Choice® delves deeper into its creation, and the journey of its author, Christopher Ride. Christopher originally wrote his manuscript over five years ago. On the day he completed the final chapter, he went to a warehouse party and talked to one of the guests about his newly finished novel. As fate would have it, the enigmatic one-legged man he was in discussion with, explained to Christopher about the Schumann Frequency – the very concept that Christopher had unwittingly written about (time moving faster and electromagnetic fields) without having ever heard of Schumann! They promptly went to the Internet to print off a brief article – an article which launched Christopher into an intensive five year research project to ensure all aspects of his book could withstand any test of accuracy.

The research led him to hundreds of articles and countless books he found so intensely fascinating (and controversial), that The Schumann Frequency became more than a fiction novel due to that brief conversation.

If you loved reading The Schumann Frequency, Christopher’s notes below will help you immerse yourself further into his world.

Truth is more bizarre than fiction...

The Schumann Frequency, was originally called The Mission of Isaiah. In 2001, after being introduced to Rolf Seluchins, the work evolved in a different direction.

Christopher says: “There are times in your life (very rare moments) when everything comes into focus. Moments that define us, reassure us; epiphanies that are signposts for where we are going. This just happened to be one of those episodes.”

“I was astounded by how much research there was on all these subjects. All relevant, all factual. That day, my role changed from fiction writer, to information-gatherer. The task from there was to ensure that, as much as possible, all elements of The Schumann Frequency were accurate. Even the concepts of time-travel were something infinitely more developed than I ever could have imagined – it was truly possible to manipulate time as Einstein had theorised.

So began a five year journey to link fact and fiction into the novel you see now. I researched every element of this book, from the time of the sunrise and sunset in each location, to the specific weather patterns and temperatures around the world.

Each historical character, historical event and location (even down to the airport runways) have been researched with unerring diligence. The theories of time travel are entirely accurate. The story of the Dead Sea Scrolls, all true.

Where is The Schumann Frequency not factual?

There are two places where fact drifts into fiction:

  1. The Copper Scroll is not a tubular baton as described in The Schumann Frequency. All other elements of its discovery, the ancient text it holds, the compound of the three copper sheets, and it’ place in history, are entirely accurate. The Copper Scroll was actually three thin sheets riveted together, made of 99% pure copper, badly oxidised, rolled into a tube – due to oxidisation the scroll was unable to be unrolled so it was taken to Manchester College in 1956 where the sheets were cut into 23 strips, photographed and translated. In The Schumann Frequency I have theorised that the copper baton, the real Copper Scroll was housed inside the three rolled-up copper sheets and kept a secret for sixty years.
  2. The labyrinth (and decision chambers) under the pyramid of Khafre are said to exist in myths, but this is not scientifically proven. Egyptologists refuse to study the area saying it is structurally not feasible. The tunnels under the causeway between the Sphinx and the pyramid of Khafre are real and this has been proven by using sonar.

Best reference book used to research The Schumann Frequency

How to Build a Time Machine, by Paul Davies.

This is an excellent beginner’s guide to time travel. Complex theories by some of the most famous scientists who ever lived are explained in examples that can be referenced in terms of our daily lives. A great book that leads to a far greater understanding of the dimensions of the world we live in.

Most Fascinating Historical Location visited in the course of writing The Schumann Frequency

At risk of stating the obvious, the Giza pyramids are without doubt the most extraordinary human-built structures on the face of the earth. The precision with which they are built, the ability of the construction to withstand the ravages of time, their sheer size and mass make them awe-inspiring even when compared against Stonehenge and Chichén Itzá. All are amazing archaeological sites, but the initial construction of Giza overlapped the completion of Stonehenge, and was completed a full 3,000 years before the Mayans began construction on the Temple of Castillo.

Conclusion

What I liked most about having been involved with The Schumann Frequency is that I learnt so much along the way. History is fascinating. Full of colour, love, friendship, humour, deceit and betrayal. Truth can be more bizarre than fiction. And this has never been more accurate than it is today.

Sequel to The Schumann Frequency… an exclusive preview for Book Choice® website readers

The Mission of Ezra must be completed. A mission that Wilson Dowling must orchestrate, not as an Overseer, but as Team Leader of the newly formed branch of the Mercury Team, known as the Guardians. Some 200 years earlier, the origins of the Chinese Horoscope – the ancient documents themselves – are in peril and must be protected – thousands of years of scholarly learning may be lost, which includes the mythical ‘Prize’ – if the Guardians fail in their quest. An Overseer must be sent back, through alternate pathways in time, to ancient China, to the scene of the infamous Boxer Rebellion – a battle between East and West – during the final days of the Qing Dynasty. However, nothing is as it seems. Wilson’s emotions have blinded him to the truth, and the situation goes from bad to worse with each step he takes. More is at risk than even he realises.
